About Me
I am Junkai (Jackie) Lin, currently an undergraduate student in Data Science at
Beijing Normal – Hong Kong Baptist University (The Campus of Hong Kong Baptist University at Zhuhai China, 北師香港浸會大學).
My research interests lie in Machine Learning, Optimization, Multimodal & Large Language Models, Medical Imaging, Geo-Informatics, and Scientific Machine Learning. I was a research intern at HKUST (Guangzhou), supervised by Dr. Qiaojin Lin.
I work in both English and Chinese, with native proficiency in Mandarin and Teochew (A branch of
Hokkien / Taiwanese), high proficiency in
Cantonese, and advanced
English ability suitable for academic writing, presentations, and research collaboration.

📘 “U-Dream” — Study Abroad & Overseas University Information Exchange Platform Selected for BNBU(UIC) CS–DS Poster Conference 2024
- Course Project for COMP3013: Database Management Systems, BNBU
- Core contributor responsible for multi-source data crawling and cleaning using Python
- Developed a Django-based backend supporting multi-dimensional queries (e.g., QS rankings, regions)
- Implemented data visualization modules and personalized university/program recommendation features
- Assisted in MySQL database schema design, including ER modeling and normalization for complex entities (students, universities, offers)
- Designed database triggers to enforce data integrity for key attributes such as GPA and language scores
- Addressed information asymmetry in study-abroad services; recognized as an exemplary project in the CS department poster exhibition
